Cantigny Golf Course Addtional Information & History

Cantigny Golf Course: Located in Wheaton, Illinois, Cantigny is comprised of three 9-hole golf courses: Woodside, which is situated among the course’s thickest woodlands, offers two par 5s, a par 3 of 200+ yards and another par 3 to a green surrounded by water; Lakeside, which is aptly named, as it features four lakes that come into play on six different holes; and Hillside, which is the shortest of the three 9-holes, but features some of the toughest holes at Cantigny. Green #6 is completely surrounded by water, and the 7th green can be a notoriously difficult 2-shot. The construction of the course began in 1986; designed by Roger Packard, Cantigny Golf Course opened in 1989. Golf Digest named Cantigny Golf Course the Best New Public Course in America; from 1994-1997, Golf Digest has given Cantigny Golf Course 4 ½ Stars. Cantigny Golf Course is part of 500-acre Cantigny Park, which also includes picnic facilities, museums, and formal gardens.
