Public golf with country club-like surroundings. Course 3 is lots of fun. You can score well if your drives are straight; this course does not punish the high-handicapper. Rangers were around to keep pace. Very nice! |

Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, Course #3: The 18-hole # 3 course at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club facility in Lemont, Illinois features 6,384 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Cog Hill’s #3 course features enough woods, sand and water to be challenging, but not overpowering. It consists of elevated, sloping greens and gently rolling, wooded terrain. The course rating is 69.7 and it has a slope rating of 116 on Bent grass. Designed by Bert F. Coghill, the # 3 golf course opened in 1927. Originally conceived of by three brothers: John W., Martin J., and Bert Coghill, the brothers also constructed a spacious, beautiful clubhouse, complete with a large dining room and adjoining sitting room, each with an impressive stone fireplace. The clubhouse originally included 14 guest rooms for golfers seeking weekend vacations. Outside the clubhouse, they originally erected a children’s playground, with a caretaker in attendance.
