Played on August 6th, 2009. Course was in great shape. It really exceeded our expectations. Challenging layout. Never saw a house, street or car while playing. Did see deer all over the place. On one hole we had two deer walk between our carts and us on the green. The ranger was very friendly even while moving a slow group in front of us along. A must play. |

this course could be amazing. some legitamate length for a cook county course. long freakin rounds, and the green_s conditions can be hit or miss. but up there with big run in terms of length, value, and maturity. |

This is a really nice course, some comments from a few years back, were critical of course maintenance, but that is no longer a problem. I played 18 on 9/4/07 and the course was in great shape , even with the extremely heavy rains that hit the area in the past week. This course offers a great challenge , with a beautifull traditional parkland layout, it is a real classic, well worth the money. I have played everywhere practically in Chicagoland and this is my favorite course, along with Big Run in Lockport. |

Very well maintained for a parks course. Pretty challenging. Greens & Tees were in good condition as were the fairways. Good stuff. |

Great layout and design. Improving yearly and with the bunker work scheduled, should return to its former glory. Loose the mats and install grass tee area (to management). This course could rank next to Big Run in Lockport for value for the dollar.A must play. |

Just played this course 9/13/04, it was great. Being from Arizona, I've never so many trees on a golf course, very challenging. |

I was planning on setting up a round at the end of August '03 after hearing that this and the other Forest Preserve courses were under new management. I played it once in 2000, and a few times in the late 80's - early 90's when you waited in your car overnight for a tee time. I will pick another course after reading the previous reviews as it confirms that the new management has not come close to raising this course back to the level it once was. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has fantasized of buying this course and maintaining it properly (if I won the lottery.) |

Played last weekend (July 2003) for first time. I'm told conditions are improving with new management by Billy Kasper Golf. They're working on the bunkers and have added fringe to the greens (the lack of fringe hints at the depths of disrepair last year). Nice layout with good length. Some bunkers are still being rehabbed, so sand was not consistent. Strong winds made this a very challenging course. Some pins were also very difficult with placements on edges of tiers. Unfortunately, it was the slowest round I've played this year (5.5 h), but I will return next year. One of the biggest drawbacks is that the range has mats. |

I have played this course over the last 10 years and it has the potential to be a great course. Lots of land, nice design, but the maintenance has always been suspect to say the least. I understand a new managament team is taking over the Cook County park district courses, hope they turn this into the gem it deserves to be. |

I'ts a shame to see how this once great course has gone downhill. Played it two weeks ago, and will probably never go again. Fairways have a fungus, and the sand traps looked as if some kids had been building sand castles. |

This is a professional level course. Every hole is long and is well protected by sand traps. Beautiful layout where every hole is seperate from other holes and offers a unique challenge. |

Best for the money in Chicago. Great layout with two monster finishing holes over water. Bring your game. |

Course has MAJOR problems in the fairways... they're more mud and dirt than grass. It's gonna until next year to get back to how nice this course once was. |
