George W. Dunne National Golf Course: Oak Forest, Illinois’ George W. Dunne National Golf Course was recently ranked as Chicagoland’s only “Perfect 10” public golf course. The Cook County Forest Preserve’s flagship course, 18-hole George W. Dunne National has also been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top public courses. Bent grass greens and fairways and challenging terrain make this golf course a must-play for both beginners and seasoned golfers. Eight lakes come into play on 11 of George W. Dunne National’s holes, plus tree-lined fairways add to a memorable golf experience. The course is committed to protecting local natural wildlife and resources and is certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Sanctuary. George W. Dunne National golf Course has a PGA professional on staff, and features a lighted driving range.
