Best public course on the North Shore. Played several times this year. Superior conditions, excellent layout for medium-length course, country club greens. On par with courses twice the price with some of the best views in Chicagoland golf. |

Course is well maintained. Greens were fast and true. Fairways are tight with alot of large trees. Course was doing some work on back nine otherwise an enjoyable round. |

This golf course in in superior shape. Carpet-like fairways and fast greens. Looks like a country club. Polite staff in pro-shop and on the course. Played 18 in four hours during prime time. Great value for the money. |

Excellent course with wonderful wooded layout. Superior views match overall condition. Greens protect the course, fairway shotmaking and putting is key. Maybe best muni/public course in the area. |

Played in this year_s Glencoe Open. Fairways and rough were excellent and the greens were consistent and quick -- told they were stimped at 11 -- incredible for a public course. Friendly -- good food -- a north shore treasure. |

The course is in terrible condition compared with similarly priced tracks in neighboring burbs. |

This course is a disaster. Standing water in poorly maintained bunkers, ground under repair everywhere, mud and muck around the cart paths. This is coupled with a staff that is quite possibly the rudest I have ever encountered on golf course anywhere. Avoid this course, the courses in Winnetka and Highland Park are much better, and the staff much nicer. |

Very fine old course built in 1921. Many mature trees. Each hole has a unique character. No short par 4s, but no long ones either. The course meanders up some hills, then down down to a lowlands area with water. It's in the city, but does not feel like a city course. |

Hi, I would not let my dog take a ...... on this dog track. Have not seen that much ground under repair since I played a muni course in downtown LA. Did manage a 79 though! P.S. It takes nerve to check a receipt after nine, heck they should have paid me to play that mess! |

Do NOT play this course. This may be long, but worth the read. I had played here several times as I had a friend who worked here. I booked a three round outting at Glencoe which netted them about $3,200. First of all, one would think that they would have given us a discount. They did not. I booked it here ONLY because my friend worked at the course and thought it would be easy to make the times (more on that later). I had to haggle with them to get a score sheet to post at the turn. Secondly, the course manager botched the dates. I sent him an email stating the dates were 8/10 and 8/11. He booked them for the previous weekend. Luckily, I called to confirm. Although the manager said otherwise, he clearly tried to blame it on me. If it wasn't a week and a half before the outting, I would have gone elsewhere. I asked him to change the dates. I stayed on the phone with him and confirmed that he had booked all three rounds. He did not (more on that as well). Third, the course was in HORRIBLE shape. For $58, I expect a course that isn't burnt out and suffering from extensice water damage. This place is a cow pasture. Don't pay the $58. It's a rip off. Fourth, the rangers are complete jackasses. On Saturday morning, my foursome was playing behind two twosomes. Why they didn't put them together, I'll never know. We were on pace to finish the round in just under two hours which is very fast for a foursome. He said that we needed to keep up with the group ahead of us even though it says on the scorecard, anine holes should take approximately 2hrs and 15 minutes. Obviously, we were not able to keep up with the twosomes in front of us. The ranger badgered us the entire round and then threatened to pick up our balls and place us where he thought they should be. After several choice words regarding his demeanor and the fact we paid $58 to play a peaceful round, he left us alone. Lastly, our 3rd round was to start at 2PM on Saturday. The braintrust at Glencoe DID NOT put us in the book. Clearly, my email stated the times and dates. Luckily the head pro Terry (who is a good guy), knew we had an afternoon time. They randomly shoved us in which caused a major delay. The round took well over five hours. The people at the course should be embarrassed (with the exception of the pro). Do not golf here as you will undoubtedly have a similar experience. |
