The 18-hole Illinois course at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin, Illinois was built in 1987 by Dick Nugent and Bruce Borland and opened later that year. A classic, links-style course, Golf Club of Illinois features high fescue grasses, strategically placed mounds on each hole and formidable sand bunkers. Golf Club of Illinois was designed by Richard P. Nugent, ASGCA. Host to 1990’s Illinois Open Championship, Golf Club of Illinois has been consistently ranked by Chicagoland Golf as one of the top 10 courses to play.
