Marengo Ridge Golf Course Addtional Information & History

Marengo Ridge Golf Course: Marengo Ridge Golf Club is an18-hole course located in rural McHenry County. The course’s front 9 features water, bunkers, and large, undulating greens. The back 9 is a more traditional style course with mature woodlands, rolling hills, and several doglegs. Marengo Ridge Golf Club has played host to several prestigious events, including the 1999 U.S. Open local qualifier and the McHenry County Amateur.  Chicagoland Golf Newspaper rates Marengo Ridge Golf Club 4 stars and they also rank the course among the top 30 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. The challenging design of the course features rolling terrain and elevation changes and is playable for golfers of all skill levels. McHenry Country Club features a Learning Center, which opened in 2001. This practice facility includes a Bent grass tee area that’s 100 yards long and 40 yards wide. Bent grass target greens feedback as golf balls land on the green. A two-sided pitching area allows for a 60-yard approach from one direction and 95 yards from the other. A putting green offers green speeds equal to those on the golf course.
