PrairieView Addtional Information & History

PairieView is owned and operated by the Byron Forest Preserve District. Designed by renowned golf course architect James Spear. The PairieView's bent grass layout can be challenged from four sets of tees, stretching to over 7,000 yards and will test your skills and nerves of every golfer. May 2, 1992 is PrairieView made its ceremonious and long-waited debut to the public. The course is well conditioned, par 72 bentgrass layout that treats golfers to a scenic, challenging and varied mix of tight tree-lined holes and open links-style holes. The course design takes advantage of a natural, rolling terrain while the large and undulating green are rigorously maintained to ensure smooth putting consistency. PrairieView is a Chicago District Golf Association member club and enrolled in the Audubon cooperative Sanctuary Program.
