In 1930 when then Sandy Hollow Golf course was opened. Located at the south side. Sandly Hollow Golf Course is a beautiful and challenging course and one of the most popular of the five Park District courses. The Golf Digest rated this course as three stars. Par is 71 and 18-hole tee lined fairway course of 6,228 yards. Sandy Hollow is certified by the Audobon Cooperative System and placed first in the Public Space category of 2002 City of Gardens Rockford in Bloom Awards.
