Skokie Country Club Addtional Information & History

The 18-hole Skokie golf course at the private Skokie Country Club facility in Glencoe, Illinois has had four different course layouts over the years. The first was a 9-hole course, and all that remains of it is a small pond on hole #18. Subsequent golf courses on he site were designed by Thomas Bendelow, Donald Ross, William Langford and Theodore Moreau, plus some more recent modifications were undertaken by Rees Jones in 1981. Many prestigious tournaments have been played at Skokie Country Club, including the U.S. Open. Skokie golf course offers 6,913 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.3 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass.  Designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, the Skokie golf course opened in 1897.
