Great greens, cool new bunkers, and a great bargain for the price. Pace is usually real good, and the staff is very attentive. I don_t know why I_m telling you this, because you_ll make the course more crowded!

This course is already starting to show some wear and tear after being rehabbed within the last year. Still, it is a solid, relatively inexpensive course.

The beauty of the course is somewhat muddled by the crabby staffmembers who greet you when making teetimes. It seems like these people have much more important things to do than take reservations.....

Excellent course with many old trees, hilly fairways and lakes. The greens are in excellent shape and are well protected by many bunkers. Every hole is a unique challenge.

Nice Course. There is a "community/family center" atmosphere around the club-house, with lots of little kids running around, a putt-putt course, etc., but once you get out on the course, it's very nice. Pretty hilly, for Illinois. Lots of sand & trees makes it a challenge.

Sportsman’s Country Club: Located in Chicagoland’s Northbrook, Illinois, classic 18-hole Sportsman’s Country Club golf course enjoys a 75-year history. The course was designed by Donald Ross protégé Edward Dearie. The Northbrook Park district recently restored the course. Some of the bunkers are gone, some have been added and others have been reconstructed. The Park District has also improved Sportsman’s greens and its drainage and irrigation systems. After a year of renovation, Sportsman’s Country Club has reopened and the golf course now offers smoother play for golfers of all skill levels. The Sportsman’s golf facility includes practice facilities, a teaching academy and a miniature golf course for kids (and the young at heart).
